Abstract: The segment of meat of beef is very dependent on import production. In 2013 the import share in the total amount of consumption of this production has made about 28‰, and in 2014 already only 25‰. The assessment of the geographical orientation of the volume and value of import in Russian beef with the embargo is executed. For the evaluation we used the data of foreign trade statistics of the customs service of Russia. The total volume of deliveries position 0201ТН VED in 2014 compared to 2013 in volume terms decreased by 12‰ in value by 9‰. The geographical orientation of deliveries has changed slightly. If in 2013, the main suppliers were Belarus (54‰), Ukraine (13‰), Brazil (9‰), in 2014, the main suppliers were Belarus (73‰), Brazil (6‰), Lithuania (5.7 ‰), and Ukraine (6.2 ‰). The situation for imports of meat of the position 0202 HS remained relatively stable: the number of deliveries fell by 10‰; the volume of supply in real terms fell by 7‰, cash 8‰. Country-suppliers remained unchanged in 2013 and 2014 - Brazil (53‰), Paraguay (24‰). Now customs and tariff regulation becomes not only the tool of the general economic policy at the national level, but also object of the regulating activity of the international economic organizations.
