Abstract: The existing problem of informing the Russian agricultural producers on scientific achievements, innovative developments, financial security and the state support in agro-industrial complex causes discussions, both in various sources of mass information, and in public authorities. In this connection the existing model of agricultural consultation in the Russian Federation is studied, the analysis of the rendered consulting services is submitted, the problems which are available in activity of agricultural consultation are revealed. The existing mismatch between a role and value of consultation in agriculture and a real condition of system of consulting services doesn't allow using all opportunities of consulting for increase in efficiency of agrarian sector of economy. Special attention is paid to problems of financial security of system of agricultural consultation. Providing conditions on attraction of investments into development of agricultural consultation is necessary, improvement of the mechanism of formation and use of non-budgetary sources are distinguished There are the main directions of further development of system of agricultural consultation: development and the statement of standard and legal base, training of highly qualified personnel for work in consulting service, carrying out programs for mass promotion of agricultural consulting services.
