Abstract: The article shows the importance of developing its own agricultural production in the penitentiary system, the changes over the past 25 years. Current status and use of the productive potential of agricultural organizations presented taking into account the specifics and peculiarities of the criminal-Executive system, shows the factors influencing the effective use of, and as a consequence, the independence of the penal system on the fluctuations in the market of food products, self-sufficient in basic foodstuffs and employment of prisoners. A comparative analysis of the penal system made in accordance with the food demand.
